About Me

I am currently a postdoctoral psychology fellow at the VA San Diego, and am studying pain and its treatment. Previously, I completed my clinical psychology doctorate in Dr. Joanna Arch's lab at the University of Colorado Boulder, and my predoctoral internship at the University of California San Diego.

My Research

My research addresses a few central questions:

  • How can we improve psychotherapy and other treatments for chronic pain?

  • Why do psychotherapies work differently for different people?

  • What are the mechanisms of psychotherapies? In other words, how do they help people to make meaningful changes in their lives?

My Clinical Work

As a clinician, I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness-based approaches. My work with each of my clients is a collaboration. I tailor my approach with each client to their preferences and circumstances. I have trained at the VA, the University of Colorado Anschutz, and UC San Diego.
